This Privacy Policy describes how Brandon ("I", "me", or "my") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Move My Car mobile application ("the App"). I am committed to protecting your privacy and handling your information transparently.
1. Information I Collect
The App collects the following types of information:
- Location data: The App uses your device's location to detect when you are near a saved reminder location and to autofill addresses when creating parking meter sessions. Location is accessed in the background only when you have an active reminder or meter session. I do not store your location data on any external server.
- Reminder and meter data: Information you enter into the App such as nicknames, addresses, scheduled times, and restriction types is stored locally on your device. This data is not transmitted to any external server.
- Purchase information: If you subscribe to Move My Car Pro or have previously purchased the app, transaction verification is handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. I do not have access to your payment information.
- Usage data: The App tracks local usage metrics such as your parking streak, tickets avoided estimate, and close call count. This data is stored entirely on your device and is not shared externally.
2. How I Use Your Information
Information collected by the App is used solely to provide core features including:
- Sending local notifications to remind you to move your car
- Detecting proximity to saved reminder locations using geofencing
- Displaying your parking history, streak, and insights
- Verifying your subscription or legacy purchase status through Apple
I do not use your information for advertising, analytics, or any purpose beyond the core functionality of the App.
3. Data Storage and Security
All reminder, meter, and usage data is stored locally on your device. I do not operate any servers or databases that store your personal information. No data is transmitted to third parties by me.
Apple may collect certain technical data as part of the App Store and StoreKit infrastructure. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for more information.
4. Location Data
The App requests access to your location in the background to support geo-triggered notifications when you are near a saved parking reminder location. Location data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to any external server or third party. You may revoke location access at any time in your device Settings. Doing so will disable geo-triggered reminders but will not affect time-based notifications.
5. Third Party Services
The App uses Apple Maps for map display on the Status tab. Apple Maps is subject to Apple's own privacy policy. No other third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services are used in the App.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App please contact me at the email below.
7. Your Rights
Since all data is stored locally on your device you have full control over it at all times. You may delete all App data by deleting the App from your device. If you have questions about your data or wish to request deletion of any information contact me at blucircus@icloud.com.
8. Changes to This Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
